In search of Co-operative Solutions
From 15 February to 2 March, 1998, a delegation of European MP’s, government officials and NGO representatives visited Colombia, Peru and Bolivia, in order to obtain information on the situation of illicit drugs production. Its objective was to achieve first-hand testimonies from (local) government officials, parliament members, representatives from the legal apparatus, development experts from NGO’s and mutlilateral organisations, peasant representatives and others on the economic, social, political and environmental problems related to illicit drugs production as well as strategies aiming at controlling this phenomenon.
GUIDELINES FOR DRUG POLICIES IN THE 21st CENTURY March 2001
In March 2001, 25 ENCOD members from 8 different countries met in Brussels and edited the following guidelines for just and effective drug policies in Europe.

Le 20 mars 2007, la Cour Fédérale de Malaisie a confirmé la peine de mort pour Basil Omar (36 ans), qui fut capturé par la police en possession de 1 kilo de cannabis en janvier de 1990.
Nous démandons a tous et toutes de copier la lettre ici dessus aux autorités relevantes (qui a été envoyée au nom de ENCOD), la signer et envoyer par courrier normal ou e-mail á l’ambassade de Maleisie plus proche.

CARTA A AUTORIDADES DE MALAYSIA
El 20 de marzo de 2007, la Corte Federal de Malaysia confirmó la pena de muerte a Basil Omar (36 años), quien fue capturado por la policía en posesión de 1 kilo de cannabis en enero de 1990.
Pedimos a todos a copiar la siguiente carta a las autoridades relevantes (que ha sido enviada a nombre de ENCOD), firmar y mandarla por correo normal o e-mail a la embajada de Malaysia más cercana
Por favor sientese libre de difundir este mensaje.
LETTER TO MALAYSIAN AUTHORITIES
On 20 March 2007, the Federal Court of Malaysia confirmed the death sentence of Basil Omar (36), who was caught with 1 kilo of cannabis in January 1990.
We ask everyone to copy the following letter to the relevant authorities (which has been sent on behalf of ENCOD), sign and send it as well by normal post or by e-mail to the Malaysian embassy in your neighbourhood.

Declaration ENCOD a la CND
Du 12 au 16 mars 2007, la 50ª réunion annuelle de la Commission de
Stupéfiants de l’ONU (CND) aura lieu à Vienne.Ce sera la dernière fois
que cette Commission se réunit avant l’échéance cruciale de 2008,
quand devra se présenter une évaluation sur les efforts globaux pour le
contrôle des drogues durant les dix dernières années.
Un représentant d’ENCOD assistera à cette réunion et présentera la
déclaration suivante, signée par les membres du Comité Exécutif
d’ENCOD.
