Belgium has an unusual history in terms of drug policy. For decades after prohibition, all drugs were treated similarly harshly. At the turn of the 21st century, cannabis laws were relaxed and personal quantities tolerated. However, a change of government late last year may spell an abrupt end to this tolerant approach.

André Fürst is dead

On behalf of Encod, we wish to express our deep sorrow over the loss of our friend and comrade André Fürst, at the age of 53 years old, in Switzerland last Tuesday, 21 April. There are not many people like André in this world, who are willing and able to act against injustice and in favour of the common good. He has left us with his example, now it is up to us to follow it. See you André, thanks for everything.
